Ever wanted to have a go at solving crimes like the detectives on television? Now you can – from the comfort of your own smartphone or tablet! twofour54 in partnership with Ubisoft, have just released CSI: Hidden Crimes™, the first mobile game to be developed in Abu Dhabi.

Three of the main game developers, Nick Phipps, Arnaud Bru, and Nassib Azar, are graduates from our Gaming Academy who joined Ubisoft after successful internships. http://tadreeb.twofour54.com/en/section/twofour54-gaming-academy

Before the twofour54 Gaming Academy, Nassib worked as a senior design architect for 10 years.  He has always been a huge gamer (PC master race FTW!) and a big fan of Assassins Creed and Splinter Cell. At Ubisoft, Nassib put together a portfolio of his digital paintings, architecture designs, TF2 maps, and writing and got accepted. Around 16 months later he started a whole new career.

Arnaud lived in Reunion Island, near Mauritius before moving to Abu Dhabi. He developed several mobiles games on his own before joining the first batch of students of our Gaming Academy, where he released the game Speed Freakz as part of their final project. He then joined the team working on CSI: Hidden Crimes for a six-month internship before being employed by the studio.

Nick hails from Down Under (that’s Australia), and says games have always been his passion. He eventually decided to try and make a career in gaming in 2010. His hard work led him half way across the world with a full scholarship to the twofour54 Gaming Academy.

With gaming software sales forecast to triple to over $3 billion within the next three years, it is an excellent time for Ubisoft to deliver the first game from Abu Dhabi to the world. It sheds light on the region and helps create gaming careers in Abu Dhabi as Ubisoft’s team grows.

Hidden Crimes has been downloaded more than four million times by users all over the world. However, in the mobile gaming world, this is only the beginning. CSI: Hidden Crimes, which is free-to-play, is expected to remain at the top of the charts for many months to come. Ubisoft studio is fully focused on offering the best experience for their players and they are constantly adding new crimes to solve.

Two of our flagship partners are Ubisoft and Cartoon Network. Both partners have established offices in the campus alongside academies dedicated to animation and game development. The regional online gaming industry had revenues of $100 million in 2012 and is expected to grow to more than $800 million by 2022.
